About COREG

The Conference of Registrars of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (COREG) was formed in 1973 by a few Colleges of Technology and Polytechnics. However, its activities at the time were very skeletal. Consequently, it went into dormancy from that period up to 1977. In 1978, conscious moves and concerted efforts were made to resuscitate it, which culminated in its re-establishment. COREG was formed to serve as a platform for Registrars of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria to interact amongst themselves. Initially, it was called Council of Registrars and Secretaries of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology (CORSEC), but later changed to its present name. COREG is not a labour organization or a trade union in the Polytechnic System, but rather an association of Registrars.
